The Ascent is a 25-story, mass-timber structure featuring retail and parking on the ground floor, with additional parking on levels two through six, and residential units from the seventh floor upwards. It holds the distinction of being the first building of its kind in the United States and made history as the tallest mass timber structure in the world, (at 284 feet) upon its completion.

This innovative construction presented numerous challenges, serving as a significant learning opportunity for all trades involved. In addition, Blair Fire Protection faced difficulties with water supply due to outdated, low-pressure mains in the vicinity. Extensive 3D modeling and coordination were conducted over several months to ensure an efficient design among all trade partners. Our services encompassed the design and installation of 25 dual-fed wet sprinkler systems, one dry sprinkler system, a Class 1 automatic standpipe system and a 750 GPM fire pump.
